Shui Clothes

Men of the Shui ethnic minority mostly wear casual clothes with cloth buttons down the front. They usually wear blue or green clothes, a black or blue turbans and pailform pants. However, nowadays, quite a few men wear Sun Yat-sen Uniform (a military uniform-like dress with a closed collar).

Young women like to wear a light blue, green or gray gown reaching the knees, black trousers, a long embroidered apron over the chest and a silver necklace around the neck. They often wrap the head with a piece of white cloth. Married women usually lace the cuffs, shoulders, the front pieces and trouser legs. Women arrange their hair into a bunch, coil it around the top of the head and insert a comb from the right. In some areas, women love to wrap the head with cloth of colorful lattices. Women's embroidered shoes are also colorful.
