Wu Yaozu

Wu Yaozu (1893-1979) was a main leader of Chinese Youth Christian Church and one of leaders of Three-self Patriotic Movement of the Protestant Churches in China.

He was born in a Christian family in Guangdong Province. In 1917, he came into contact with the Bible and began to believe in it. In 1918, he was baptized and joined Chinese Youth Christian Church in Beijing in 1920. In 1943, his representative work, the Nobody has Ever Seen the God, was published. In 1950, he made a joint declaration with other Christian leaders. They called for realization of self-government and self-support. In 1979, he died in Shanghai.

He left many works, including Society's Gospels, Dark and Bright, Scientific Religion and so on.
