Gu Yuehan

Gu Yuehan (1859-1936), whose original name was Johnathon Goforth, was a famous Canadian priest in China.

He was born in a farmer's family and became a priest in 1887. He came to Shanghai in 1888 and later went to Shandong and Henan provinces.

His activities were mainly taken place in Anyang in Henan Province. He used local farmers as sermonizers and developed quite a lot of followers. His missionary work didn't stop until 1935 when he got ill and had to go back to Canada. He died in 1936.

Gu Yuehan was a typical priest and a sermonizer. His sermon had a far-reaching influence in China, especially in Henan Province.
